About Edmonton Heritage Festival Association
Who We Are:
The Edmonton Heritage Festival Association is a not for profit organization that manages and oversees the World’s largest Multicultural Festival.
Our Vision is:
-
Presenting an Annual Summer Festival and showcasing the diverse cultures of our community.
-
Providing year-round activities and programs that highlight our community’s great and varied cultural heritage.
-
Becoming the primary resource to educate the community on diverse cultures.
What We Do:
The Edmonton Heritage Festival is a three-day celebration of multiculturalism held annually in Edmonton’s beautiful river valley. This year's festival will take place online on August 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, 2020, and will feature over 40 countries sharing their culture in a virtual manner. In most years, an estimated 1,500 volunteers from participating cultural organizations work countless hours sharing their talent, enthusiasm, and culinary skills. Pavilions offer dance, arts, and foods from the land of their ancestors.
On-site visitor attendance can reach more than est. 350,000.
UNESCO/CIOFF:
We are a member of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF). This makes the Festival an “Intangible Cultural Heritage Asset” with CIOFF’s Sponsor UNESCO and allows us worldwide recognition and marketing opportunities.
