SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
We have an amazing scholarship program thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. Scholarship amounts range between $250 - $1000 and are awarded by random draw from all eligible entries.
Eligibility Criteria:
Volunteer must be registered in a full-time program at an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution by December 31 of the year of the Festival (ex: for this year by Dec. 31, 2022).
Volunteer must complete a minimum of 2 shifts (approx. 10 hours) to be entered into the draw. More shifts = more entry forms!
Forms are available at Volunteer Registration during the Festival. Volunteers must have Registration sign-off on the hours completed.Volunteers must hand them in at the end of the festival.
VULNERABLE SECTOR CHECK
A few sections in our volunteer program require a vulnerable sector check. It is a background check done by Edmonton Police Services to ensure our vulnerable populations safety.
If the position you signed up for requires this, you can complete it online HERE.
Make sure to complete the Police Information Check - Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS). It is $15 and will be reimbursed two weeks after the festival when receipt is returned to chelsea@heritagefest.ca.
* Please note: Persons under the age of 18, do NOT need to have a vulnerable sector check completed.
HOSPITALITY
Volunteers will receive a meal chit or card from their supervisors during their shifts that they may exchange for a meal from participating cultural tents.
