Social Media & Marketing Coordinator
Location: 14603 118 Ave NW Edmonton, AB
Terms: Full Time Contract from May to August.
Requirements: Must be fully available July – September.
Reports to: Marketer Team Lead

Job Brief:
We are looking for a passionate, talented, and creative social media and marketing coordinator to develop engaging content and copy for multiple social media platforms and traditional media as well that is representative of our mission and vision. Implement and maintain a strong marketing strategy for our company.
The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the best practices for multiple media outlets and experience using tools to monitor and assess the effectiveness of the strategy. If you are a detail-oriented, creative, tech-savvy individual with excellent communication skills, we would like to meet you.
About the Edmonton Heritage Festival Association (EHFA):

Our Mission is to “To promote public awareness, understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity through an annual summer festival”.

We present Heritagefest annually and assist other cultural events over the course of the remainder of the year.

We are a member of the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts (CIOFF). Our shared partner, UNESCO, has named us an “Intangible Cultural Heritage Asset”.
Heritagefest is the world’s largest three-day celebration of multiculturalism. It is a collection of Alberta based cultural groups that come together to share their history, song, dance, and food with the world from tented pavilions on 17 hectares.
Up to one hundred cultural organizations present to over three hundred thousand live and one and a half million on-line visitors annually. It is facilitated by the Edmonton Heritage Festival Association, overseen by a Board of Directors, and managed by a small staff.

Responsibilities:

Evaluate web traffic, customer engagement metrics and the effectiveness of SEO strategies.

Manage social media accounts’ layout and assist in development of a posting schedule for each platform.

Monitor trending hashtags that you can apply to your daily updates so that the brand can get more exposure through hot topics.

Engage with the audience by answering questions, responding to comments as well as address praises and complaints.

Implement marketing plans that include print, broadcast, and online content.

Simplify complex data into a user-friendly format such as graphs, charts and other visual aids for clients and management.
Qualifications & Requirements

Prior experience as a Social Media Coordinator or a related role.

Expertise in multiple social media platforms. In-depth understanding of keyword research, Google Analytics and SEO.

Expert knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS).

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Photoshop, and web editing packages.
