We have an amazing scholarship program thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. Scholarship amounts range between $250 - $1000 and are awarded by random draw from all eligible entries.
Volunteer must be registered in a full-time program at an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution by December 31 of the year of the Festival (ex: for this year by Dec. 31, 2021).
Volunteer must complete a minimum of 2 shifts (approx. 10 hours) to be entered into the draw. More shifts = more entry forms!
Forms are available at Volunteer Registration during the Festival. Volunteers must have Registration sign-off on the hours completed.Volunteers must hand them in at the end of the festival.

Volunteers can get their Entry Passes by going to the 'Passes' tab on the Heritage Festival eventbrite page. After entering the main page, click 'register', then it will come up with a list of dates. Scroll to the bottom where you will see 'EHFA Volunteer Pass'. Select the number of passes you would like and click 'register'.
*Volunteers only need ONE pass for the 3-days!
*Persons between the ages of 12-15 may volunteer if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
*Persons 16-17 require a parent or guardian to sign a waiver before volunteering.
*Some opportunities require that volunteers must be over the age of 18.
Masks are mandatory on-site for all volunteers
Hand wash and sanitization stations will be available to volunteers throughout the park and are encouraged to use them
Patrons will be required to get a Timed Entry Pass to enter Hawrelak. Volunteers will get a separate pass emailed to them that will grant them access.

VULNERABLE SECTOR CHECK
A few sections in our volunteer program require a vulnerable sector check. It is a background check done by Edmonton Police Services to ensure our vulnerable populations safety.

GETTING TO HAWRELAK
ETS Bus Passes Available to Volunteers
Passes will be available at the Heritage Fest Office from July 20th- 23rd from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. If you are unable to pick up your passes during those dates, passes will also be available at Hawrelak Park on July 30th between 1:00 pm - 9:00 pm or anytime during the Festival from Volunteer Registration.

Volunteers will receive a meal ticket from their supervisors during their shifts that they may exchange for a meal from participating cultural tents.
